Mind Made Whole

Psychotherapy and Christian Counseling

I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy. This approach incorporates a variety of therapeutic principles and philosophies in order to create the ideal treatment for you as the client. I have training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) which has a reputation for being "the gold standard of therapeutic treatment." I find that the use of a blend of techniques from CBT, Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and Task Centered Therapy (TCT) provide the best outcome for most clients that I engage.

In addition, my Christian foundation allows me to incorporate values and principles adapted from the Holy Bible to build strong relationships with my client's  who are seeking spiritual guidance. I believe that we are tri-part beings and in order to experience true wholeness we must not neglect any part of who we are mind, soul, and spirit. As a Christian Counselor I believe sometimes the issues that we experience go beyond science and can be very spiritual in nature.  At Mind Made Whole, I seek to use God-given wisdom to discern what is causing your symptoms, so we can work towards finding lasting solutions. I take into account and respect the medical field and its expertise in providing knowledge and understanding regarding the function of the brain. If deemed necessary, a referral will be made to a psychiatrist or health care physician who can provide you with the medication management required to help support complete mental well being. Through Mind Made Whole I will create a plan of treatment for healing and growth . Whatever brought you here, I offer you a place of safety and compassion where you can get the help you need.

I believe that Jesus Christ died to set us free. Part of being set free is to be free in your mind. The mindset that we have will govern the course that we take and the outcomes in our lives.  Shifting from an old negative mindset to a new positive mindset makes all the difference in the world. You can learn to train your mind to think differently with diligence and persistence. My goal is to help you to have a new mindset by providing you with encouragement, hope, and a brand new outlook on life. It is the will of God for you to be victorious in your living and this can only happen after overcoming the battle in your mind.

Depression
Depression

Depression is a serious condition that many suffer with. People who suffer from depression might experience overwhelming feelings of emptiness and hopelessness, with no desire to do the things they once loved. Many people who suffer with depression often live an isolated life accompanied with mental and physical exhaustion, body aches, headaches, and physical illness. Depression is sometimes stigmatized as a sign of weakness and something that people should be able to control. The truth is depression is very difficult to manage if ignored and left untreated without professional help.

Depression is a real condition that often requires professional treatment to overcome. Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for depression can help you work through the darkness that consumes you, and help provide guidance in regaining ground to experience a more peaceful and sound mind that our Lord, Jesus Christ intended you to have.  Common forms of depression include Major Depressive Disorder, Persistent Depressive Disorder, Bipolar I, Bipolar II, and Postpartum Depression. Seeking treatment for depression can help by allowing you the opportunity to work through your symptoms.

Relationships
Relationships

Do you feel stuck in your life with a number of relationship difficulties? Do you feel that you are going in circles with no changes and need someone to speak to?

Relationship problems can be very difficult to deal with especially when it involves breakups, feeling of rejection, discouragement, disappointment, poor self esteem, stress and pressure about anything including health, work, school, parents, children, freienships, and broken relationships.

People bring different perspectives, personalities, and challenges to a relationship. Most would agree that some conflict in relationships is inevitable, but there are ways to handle it so it is not destructive to you or other's involved with you.

Relationships can become stronger if all participants are willing to talk about and work through their differences. Conflict can often be resolved and serious matters dealt with if we take a step back and consider the various ways to handle the situation effectively. Seeking relationship advice or having someone to talk to about your problems can been very beneficial. If you want to move forward, please seek help so that you can begin to heal.
